We had a lovely time with Ryan's family in the Seattle area in August. His aunt has a lovely two acre farm and we really, really had a great time. We spent alot of time in the garden. Laurelle road a tractor, fed donkeys and goats, and helped shovel poop. We road a ferry to Whidbey island and tried to find clams, we went sailing on a sailboat, we went to Pike Place Market. We just had so much fun. His family is great fun.

Ostrich - Deer Farm

We stopped at the Ostrich farm on the way home from Tucson (there were deer as well). We fed the animals and man those Ostrich are mean. Stand back.

Jen G. wedding

Laurelle and I were in a wedding last weekend. My college friend got married in Tucson. I was a bridesmaid and Laurelle was a flower girl.

Ryan's Mom got married April 6th

Bob and Becky Grzenia

Laurelle's 2nd Birthday

We had a great time with almost all family. She played with her cousins and had more than enough presents to open. Aunt Fran left the night before. We (Fran, Chrystal and my neighbor Vicki) were up till midnight on Fri. night make the cupcake tower which I thought would be easier than making a cake. It was easy but time consuming.

I love Jesus

It feels good to say it ... I love Jesus. We had Bible Study (I guess you would call it) tonight and we are reading Divine Conspiracy. We were discussing how to experience the Blessings of God and we defined the blessings as intimacy and relationship with Jesus. Isn't that what should matter most? But yet we worry about things of this world that don't matter at all. For example, I am wondering what people will think when they read this and wishing I wasn't thinking that. I want to be so in love with Jesus that I talk about him all the time.

Why don't we practice spiritual disciplines more often.... fasting, solitude, meditating etc. I love it when I have time and enjoy it immensly. I feel like I don't have time because of being a busy mom but I find time to watch the tube at night before bed. I find time to email friends and family and talk on the phone.

These are just my crazy thoughts I wanted to share.

Pennsylvania - Grandma's 75th Birthday

We just returned Monday, Jan. 16th from Pennsylvania. We flew there for my grandmother's 75th birthday. It was a suprise that all 12 of her kids would be there (although my father ended up stuck on the runway and didn't make it). She knew we were coming for a visit but not that there was a party. Her children planned family pictures, a party at the church, a slideshow and a scrapbook putting together most of her pictures. It was a lovely weekend. Ryan met all 11 of my dad's siblings. We had wonderful weather, no snow and no flight delays. The kids did wonderful on the plane. We really enjoyed ourselves. I will post pictures of all these wonderful events as soon as I get them back from Costco (well hopefully soon after - loading the pictures takes a long time).

Josh got married

Josh got married Friday, December 30th in Tucson, AZ. He married Megan Snyder of Tucson. My cousins Jess and Matt and their spouses were in town. We went down to Tucson on Thurs. and stayed two nights in a hotel to join in the celebration. Some friends of mine down there Jen and Marcus (whose wedding I will be in in March) watched Laurelle during the wedding and reception. Noah attended and it was a beautiful outdoor ceremony. It was at La Mariposa and the grounds and reception room were quite lovely. They had a candy table that you could scoop your own candy into bags - it was yummy! I have to say the whole thing was fun and we were sad to have to leave to go pick up Laurelle and get her to bed.

Christmas 2005

Well we celebrating Baby Jesus birth with much family. Becky and Bob joined us Christmas morning to open presents. Noah slept through the present opening but Laurelle enjoyed it. We had to tell her what was in the package to get her interested in opening the presents. After the first two she would rather have stopped and played with those presents for a while. She actually didn't open her stocking until the day after Christmas. It was a nice slow day. We didn't eat until 6 pm because Dave and Nancy and Grandma and Grandpa Goodman's plane arrived at 4:30 pm. They joined us for dinner along with Josh. Dave and Nancy and Josh stayed the night - Dave and Nancy actually stayed two. We enjoyed their company tremendously.

Christmas Eve - we did the usual... ate soups and appetizers at Mom's house after attending Christmas Eve church service at Faith. Carol and her grandkids joined us.

SEMA

Ryan had to go to Las Vegas for the SEMA show so his mom and the kids and I went up to Grandma Estes' house. We went up on Thurs. and Ryan joined us after the show on Friday. He golfed at his favorite golf course there - Wolf Creek. His grandma and I went to some garage sales (didn't buy anything). We had a very nice relaxing time. His grandmother is making some beautiful handmade Barbie doll clothes for the grandkids (including Laurelle). WOW - they are spectacular.

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at my parents house. We potlucked it. Deb and the kids were there along with Andrew, Christina, Christina's parents and siblings, my crew, mom, dad, Carol (a friend I used to work with) and her two grandchildren Brittney and Nathan, Ryan's mom and Bob. I think that is all - sorry if I left someone out. We played games, put together puzzles and of course played pool. It was one of our better Thanksgivings.
